Akansha Chandra joined the law offices of Grae & Grae, LLC in 2024, and is dedicated to providing the firm’s clients with strategic, high-quality legal representation in construction-related matters. She advises and represents contractors and subcontractors on both public and private sector projects. Her work includes assisting with the filing, enforcement, and defense of mechanic’s liens and bond claims, handling M/WBE and DBE filings and certifications to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and litigating construction-related disputes on behalf of the firm’s clients.
Ms. Chandra earned her Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from Rutgers Law School, where, as a result of her demonstrated academic excellence, she was admitted to the prestigious and highly selective Order of the Coif, and named to the school’s Dean’s List in multiple years. In addition to her traditional curriculum, Ms. Chandra participated in multiple externships, including with the Office of the New Jersey Attorney General, where she honed and developed the very lawyering skills that have served her in good stead throughout her transition to the practice of law. Ms. Chandra also participated in the Rutgers Intellectual Property Law Clinic, where she advised clients on trademark and copyright filings, and helped evolve strategies for the protection of intellectual property rights. Upon joining Grae & Grae, LLC, Ms. Chandra has assisted multiple clients with the preparation and filling of trademark applications, and continues to play a central role in the handling of the firm’s intellectual property-related matters.
